Application Process
Thank you for your interest in joining the Yadkin River Retriever Club. We are very fortunate to have our own training grounds. As a result, we want to get to know all applicants before granting them permission to access the grounds. We also require that each member work at our weekend hunt test events and help with grounds maintenance and upkeep.
We have two membership classifications: 1) Full Members have nominating and voting privileges, may train on the grounds and may bring one guest per training session; 2) Probationary Members do not have nominating or voting privileges and can train on the grounds ONLY if they are a guest of a Full Member.
After at least six (6) months (but not more than twelve (12) months) from date of application, Probationary Members are eligible to become Full Members. At the Probationary Member’s initiative, two Full Members in good standing must endorse the candidate in writing to the Board. The Board will review the request and notify the applicant if they are approved.
The club has three weekend Hunt Test events each year which take place over a total of eight (8) days. Each member is required to work at least four (4) full days at Club hunt tests. Quarterly grounds maintenance workdays will be scheduled and communicated to members. Each member is required to work least two (2) grounds maintenance workdays each year. Hunt test calendars can be found on www.entryexpress.net.
Those who wish to apply for Probationary Membership should click here and submit a $50 nonrefundable application fee.
Membership Dues:
- Membership Dues are established by the Board each year.
- The deadline for payment is January 31st.
- Invoices will be emailed to Members in December.
- 2025 Membership Dues are $200.
