Application Process – Closed for 2026

Thank you for your interest in joining the Yadkin River Retriever Club. We are very fortunate to have our own training grounds. As a result, we want to get to know all Applicants before granting them permission to access the grounds. To do this, we require each Applicant to work at our weekend hunt test events and help with grounds maintenance and upkeep.

Applications for membership are open between January 1st and February 28th. After at least six (6) months (but not after December 31st) from notice that the Application was received, Applicants are eligible to become Members. Members have nominating and voting privileges, may train on the grounds and may bring one guest per training session. Applicants do not have nominating or voting privileges and can train on the grounds ONLY if they are a guest of a Member.

Applicants seeking Membership are required to obtain written endorsements from two Members in good standing and submit them to the Board. The Board will review the request and notify the applicant if they are approved.

The club has three weekend Hunt Test events each year which take place over a total of eight (8) days. Each Applicant (and Member) is required to work at least four (4) full days at Club hunt tests. Quarterly grounds maintenance workdays will be scheduled and communicated. Each Applicant (and Member) is required to work at least two (2) grounds maintenance workdays each year. Hunt test calendars can be found on www.entryexpress.net.

Those who wish to become an Applicant should click here and submit a $100 nonrefundable application fee. Again, applications are open from January 1st through February 28th, so if you wish to apply outside of this window, you will need to wait until the following year.

Membership Dues:

  • Membership Dues are established by the Board each year.
  • The deadline for Membership Dues payment is January 31st.
  • Invoices will be emailed to Members in December.
  • 2026 Membership Dues are $200.
